As a classical pianist, Janelle Zhou earned both her master’s degree and Artist Diploma at CUNY Brooklyn College-Conservatory of Music as a Florence English Music Scholarship and BC Foundation MFA Scholarship recipient. Janelle has performed with Shandong University Symphony Orchestra, Qingdao Symphony Orchestra, and Brooklyn College Wind Ensemble. She also collaborated in the Brooklyn College Wind Concert series. In 2018, Janelle performed with Brooklyn College Symphonic Choir in Joe Hisaishi Symphonic Concert— Music from Films of Hayao Miyazaki, in Carnegie Hall, New York. In 2019, She premiered composer Noah Magnus’s rock composition “Dirty Don” with his band. Janelle is the winner of the 2016 Pearl River Kaisabao International Piano Competition; the First Prize of Professional VII, Zhongsin International Music Competition; In recent years, she is named the Third Place of IPC Mozart Competition 2021, and is the Third Place Winner of the 2022 American Music Talent Competition.
