Bass | Guitar | Piano | Woodwinds | Sax

William Stout
Schedule: Mon – Thu

Will is a super talented multi-instrumentalist who teaches Piano, Bass, Guitar, Sax and Woodwinds and holds a  Bachelor’s of Music in Composition from U.C. Santa Barbara. He began playing music in his elementary school’s 4th grade wind orchestra and has been hooked on performing, composing, and teaching ever since. Starting out as a clarinet player, Will quickly branched out to trying many new instruments thanks to encouragement from his parents and high school band director, David Dick. Will began playing Tenor Saxophone, Piano and Electric Bass in high school joining a wide variety of ensembles including Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Steel Drum Band, and the pit orchestra for the annual winter musical.

A recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award in 2016, William initially planned to attend University of California at Santa Barbara for a degree in clarinet performance, but quickly switched his focus to Composition upon taking some courses in music production and theory. While studying under composition faculty members Brandon Rolle and Andrew Tholl, Will developed a deep passion for learning theories and processes behind songwriting, and began to integrate them into his teaching.

Whether you are just starting out and need some direction, or have played for years and are feeling like you’ve hit a ‘plateau’, Will is excited to work with you and show you how fun mastering an instrument can be!
